

Bob was born December 1, 1936, in Memphis, TN to Robert Lee Hill, Sr. and Marguerite Louise Hunter Hill.
He grew up in Blytheville, AR and graduated from Blytheville High School in 1954, where he played football and baseball and ran track for the Chickasaws.
He attended Hendrix College and graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences with a B.S. and M.D.
He completed a Rotating Internship followed by a two-year stint in the U.S. Air Force at Kelly AFB in San Antonio, TX, achieving the rank of Captain.
Returning to Little Rock, Dr. Hill completed a 4-year residency in General Surgery. He moved with his family to Hot Springs in 1968, where he practiced General Surgery for 33 years with Surgery Associates of Hot Springs.
Bob was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha honorary medical fraternity, Arkansas Medical Society, American Medical Assn, American Board of Surgery and served as Chief of Staff at Ouachita Hospital (National Park) as well as Chief of Staff at St. Joseph’s (CHI St. Vincent). He was also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Bob served as a deacon at First Baptist Church of Hot Springs and sang in the Classic Worship Choir. He truly lived out his faith in Christ.
Bob is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty Lee Hill, two daughters, Elizabeth (Beth) Hill Schmitz, and husband Alan, of Tulsa, OK and Linley Hill Carroll, and husband Jim, of Little Rock, AR, and 7 grandchildren, Kelsey Schmitz Watkins (Will) of Tulsa, OK, Casey Schmitz Drake (Connor) of Edmond, OK, Jason Schmitz (Amy) of Oklahoma City, OK, Logan Schmitz of London, England, Katie Carroll Williams (Dr. David), Allyson Carroll Worden (Nick), and Matthew Carroll, all of Little Rock, AR and 9 great-grandchildren.
He will always be remembered as a kind and beloved husband, father and grandfather.
The family is deeply grateful for the compassionate care provided by the staff of Tulsa Inverness Redbud Memory and Suncrest Hospice.
Graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, April 7, 2025 at Crestview Memorial Park Cemetery in Hot Springs, with Dr. John McCallum officiating. Friends and family are welcome.
