Bob was born in Decatur, Illinois to Kenneth and Marjorie Brown Makepeace. He grew up in Union County Arkansas in a home built by his granddaddy. He spoke fondly of his granddaddy spoon feeding him peaches and milk while they were on the front porch of his grandparent’s house which was across the road from the house where he lived with his parents and siblings.
He graduated from El Dorado High School and Southern State College then served in the US Navy. For the majority of his career Bob worked in the chemical industry in El Dorado, Arkansas.
Bob was a loving son, husband, father, brother and grandfather. He enjoyed time with his children and grandchildren; camping, cooking with them, and supporting their extracurricular activities.
He was a good-hearted person and an advocate for the environment. Bob’s interest included home additions, renovations, and gardening. He had an appreciation for nature and he LOVED Spud Nuts.
