He attended both Lake Hamilton School and Hot Springs High. He lived in Florida for several years.
He is survived by his daughter, Maia Layne Purtee; mother, Phyllis Purtee; sisters, Jennifer Purtee, Stephanie Stracener and Debbie Purtee; and cousins Jena Gibbs and Alisha Mangum.
A private service will be held at a later date.
