It was with a great sense of duty he joined the United States Army, proudly serving as a medic in the Persian Gulf War. His amazing service was recognized with a Bronze Star, two Bronze Service Stars, a National Defense Service medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon and the Marksmen Badge.
Kent was born with a one of a kind infectious laugh and a heart full of compassion and love; both of which the many patients he cared for as a nurse found warm and comforting.
Jami, his wife, with whom he loved, will miss hearing him play his guitar and the spontaneous, surprise adventures they would often take. His beloved children Skyler, Maren (David) Atkinson, Tessla Vigil and Nicole Mc Neely will remember him cheering the Razorbacks, his fondness for the hunt, the roar of his Harley, but most of all the way he loved them - unconditionally and without question. They will tell Kent’s six grandchildren and the three who are on their way, what an amazing man Buddy was. He will be sorely missed by his parents and his siblings, Don and Amber; grandmother Ernestine McNeely; several aunts, uncles, cousins and a large extended family.
Welcoming him home will be his grandfathers, Joe McNeely and John Ragsdale; and grandmothers, Betty Johns and Betty Rollins.
