

Steven "Steve" John George, Sr., of Hot Springs, AR, passed away peacefully at his home on December 25, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. While our hearts break, we rejoice knowing he is at peace in love and light.
Born in St. Joseph, Michigan, on October 10, 1954, he was raised in Chesterton, Indiana, where he worked alongside his family at the Enchanted Forest Amusement Park. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to Lufkin, Texas, in 1979, where he raised a family while owning and operating several successful businesses, including Galaxy Furniture Store and Slendarella Figure Salon. Steve and his family devoted many great years to “The Bill Hames Show,” owning games and George’s Fine Food Concessions. Throughout his later life, Steve spent time in Texas, Arkansas, California, Florida, and Indiana, visiting each of his children and staying connected to those he loved.
An avid reader and writer with a deep love of music, Steve was a man of great adventure with a genuine zest for life. Thought-provoking and uniquely inspiring, he was always willing to listen and encourage others, making everyone around him shine a little brighter and smile a little bigger.
He was welcomed home by his parents, Edward Joseph and Charlotta Stevens George. His memory is cherished and carried on by his large and loving family. He leaves behind his brother, Edward George Jr. and his wife, Cathy; his sister, Judy Davis; and Uncle John George.
He is also survived by Brenda Kay George, mother of his children, and their four children: Steven John George Jr. and his husband, Jason Paxton; Christopher Joseph George and his wife, Michelle; Shalena Marie George; and Kesha Lynn George Pilot and her significant other, Grant Mason.
Steve was the proud grandfather of eleven grandchildren: Christa Cagley and her wife Anelise; Alicia Warren and her husband, Keith; Brycean Webber, Cameron George, Devin George, Andrew Nelson, Anthony Nelson, Jase Bishop, John Michael Warner, and Parker Pilot.
He will also be missed by his nieces and nephews: Tiffany George Crain and her husband, William; Mike Davis Jr and his wife April; Dino Davis; LaDonna Davis Jones and her husband Joe; Ted Davis; Jessica Nihart and her wife, Shawna; Amie Kinsey and her husband, Jim; Brendan Klenk and his wife Taylor; Robby Bullington and his wife, Christine; as well as many beloved cousins and friends.
He will be remembered for the warmth and light he brought into every space and the profound love and laughter he shared. His kind and charismatic soul will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
