October 27, 1956 – May 27, 2025
Terry Lee Atha, 68, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away on May 27, 2025. Born on October 27, 1956, Terry was a man who lived life with quiet strength, a sharp wit, and a curious mind.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Jasmine Atha. He is survived by his loving family: his brother John (Janice), his sister Kelley (Darryl), his daughter Abby (Matt), his granddaughter Karlee, and a new grandchild expected in January 2026. He also leaves behind nieces Sara (Stephen) and Kat (Noah), nephews Cameron and Spencer (Kearsten), grandnephews Luke, Rowan, Fletcher, grandniece Camden and many other family members and friends who will deeply miss him.
Terry spent his career in tire recycling and asphalt manufacturing, working hard and taking pride in a job well done. Early in his life, he was a proud member of the Sheridan High School Marching band and class of 1975. He also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—tinkering with his Ham Radio (call sign KG4LTL) spending time outdoors as a certified scuba diver, avid hunter and fisherman, as well as deep conversations surrounding his faith to anyone who would listen.
Terry lived life fully even with his diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease in the early 2000’s. He was incredibly cared for by the wonderful staff at Belvedere Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hot Springs. The attention and love they showed him was immense.
A private family service will be held at Jones Cemetery in Amity, Arkansas on Saturday, May 31 at 2:30 p.m., with arrangements provided by Gross Funeral Home. Service will be officiated by close family friend, Brother Bob Wiegel.
Terry’s legacy lives on in the stories we tell, the laughs we remember, and the love he gave so freely to those he held close.
