Thomas Alton East, beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on March 14, 2024, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, at the age of 64.
Born on July 31, 1959, in Springhill, Louisiana, Tommy was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy East, and leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter.
Tommy is survived by his father; Arlis East, his brother; Dwain East, his sister; Arlisa Wylie (Scott), his ex-wife and best friend, Lisa East, his sons; Jacob East (Dara) and Daniel East (Gailin), and his cherished grandchildren; Mackenzie, Dylan, Ella, Payslie, Rylee, Charlee, and Oaklee. Additionally, he leaves behind his dearest friend Tammy.
Known for his kind heart and compassionate spirit, Tommy was dearly loved by all who knew him. Renowned for his infectious sense of humor, he proudly wore the title of prankster, bringing laughter wherever he went. Growing up in Prescott, Arkansas, Tommy attended Prescott High School, where his mischievous antics left an indelible mark. From placing tacks in the principal's chair to ingeniously locking his teachers' purses, Tommy's escapades were legendary.
After high school, Tommy embarked on a successful career as an electrician, ultimately becoming a Journeyman electrician following his apprenticeship. A devout Christian, he found solace and community at Central Baptist Church in Prescott and later at Alamo Baptist Church in Hot Springs.
Tommy's love for the water was unmatched. Whether scuba diving, water skiing, boating, or simply lounging on the shore, he found joy and peace on the water and by the lakeside. An avid enthusiast of motorcycles, ATVs, and hunting, Tommy embraced the outdoors with everything that he had.
Home was Tommy's sanctuary, where he relished lazy afternoons on the porch accompanied always by his beloved dogs. He delighted in good ole country cooking and savoring his favorite dishes such as pineapple upside-down cake, and especially his grandmother's famous peanut butter cake. Summer months held a special place in his heart, as they were filled with cherished family memories and endless adventures on the water.
Above all, Tommy treasured his family, showering them with boundless love and creating lifelong memories. His absence will be deeply felt, but his laughter and warmth will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
