

Sue married William Vernon Wright in October 1963 and spent 61 years faithfully by his side. During the early years of their marriage, Sue worked the lunch counter at S.H. Kress & Co. in downtown Hot Springs. When the couple started their own poultry business, Sue worked daily alongside Vernon for many years, helping to take care of the farm. Later, Sue was employed in Food Service for several years at Lake Hamilton
School District.
Sue enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, and was known for many tasty dishes and treats, such as her lasagna, skillet meatloaf, and red velvet cake. Her most favorite hobby was sewing. Over the years, she made hundreds of shirts, pants, skirts and other clothing. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed crafting and gifting these items to family and friends.
Sue was a former member of the Garland County Fair Board and 70 West Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. She was also active with the Garland County Farm Bureau,
Garland County Cattleman’s Association, and Lake Hamilton FFA Alumni.
Sue was predeceased by her parents, and brother Norris Berryhill.
She is survived by her Husband, and her Sister Judy Berryhill (Michael) of Pearcy.
She was blessed to have five generations of family including daughter Laura King (Bob) of Rocky Mount, LA, sons Robert Wright (Deidre) and Mike Wright (Barbara) of Pearcy; Grandchildren Brandon Archer, Jeremiah, Nathan and Sarah Wright, Chris Adams, Dalton and Dustin Wright and Brian and Jacob Lookadoo. She had 15 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews
The family would like to thank the many people who helped to care for Sue over the last several years of her life. She received excellent treatment for her Parkinson’s disease from the doctors and staff at UAMS Little Rock for many years. In the last remaining years, she was provided outstanding care by the staff of both the Nightingale Nursing Home in Glenwood and Quapaw Nursing and Rehab in Hot Springs, as well as the staff of Arkansas Hospice.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 10, 2-4 PM at Gross Funeral Home.Graveside service and burial will be at Oma Cemetery, Amity RD, Pearcy, Monday, November 11 at 10 AM. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be staff of Nightingale and Quapaw Nursing, Arkansas Hospice, and the Neurological Center of UAMS.
