Bertha Mae Valentine-Singleton, age 63, a native and resident of Morgan City, La., died Friday, February 12, 2010 at her residence. Visitation will be Saturday, February 20, 2010, at The Church of Christ on Railroad Ave., from 10:00 AM until the funeral at 11:00 AM. The burial will take place in the Morgan City Cemetery Singleton was survived by: two sons, Kevin A. Singleton and Keith A. Singleton both of Morgan City, La.; a daughter, Tina Marie Wilcher of Hattiesburg, Ms.; five brothers, Wilbert Valentine, Jr. of Lafayette, Larry Valentine, Calvin Valentine, Leonard Escort, and Author Escort all of Morgan City, La.; three sisters, Vida Mae Banks of Brookhaven, Ms., Iola Davis of Houston, Tx., and Shirley Penn of Morgan City; a brother-in-law, Willie P. Banks of Brookhaven, Ms.; a sister-in-law, Connie Escort of Morgan City; an uncle, a aunt, seven grandchildren, four adopted grandchildren, two great- grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and an aunt.
