Calvin Rutledge, 90, a native of Grand Caillou and resident of Houma died, Wednesday, April 10, 2013. Visitation will be Thursday at Jones Funeral Home of Houma, located at 6775 West Park Avenue from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and 11:00 a.m. until funeral time at the church. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2013 at Plymouth Rock Baptist Church, 1000 Wallis St., Houma. Burial will follow in Union Benevolent Cemetery. He is survived by his sons, Rynell (Robin) and Jerry Rutledge; daughters, Davene Rutledge and Beldina Williams; sisters, Dorothy (St. Clair, Jr.) Davis and Muriel Wallace; a devoted grandson, Gary Williams; fifteen grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren and twenty-six great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette Thomas-Rutledge; parents, Van, Sr. and Bertha Gaino-Rutledge; son, Phillip Rutledge; daughters, Dorothy Smith and Melvina Williams; brother, Van Rutedge, Jr.; sisters, Hester Mae Rutledge and Louise Smith.
