Carl Ray Hawkins, age 50, a resident Verdunville, La., died Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the Post Acute Medical Specialty Hospital in Lafayette, La., at 1:50 PM. Visitation will be Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Jones Funeral Home, Chapel in Franklin, La., from 9:00 AM until funeral services at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Nazarene Baptist Church Cemetery in Verdunville, La. Left to cherish his memories; two sons, Dwayde Hawkins & Carl Hawkins, Jr., both of Franklin, La; five brothers, Ron Hawkins of Wichita, KS., John Hawkins Amarillo, TX., Wayne Thomas of Verdunville, La., Ricky Thomas of Centerville, La., and Harry Lee Thomas of St. Martinsville, La; five sisters, Karen Gier of Bayou Vista, La., Janet Ambroise of Miami, Fl., Jean Darby of Verdunville, La., Faye Coleman and Greta Francis both of Baldwin, La; his godparents; John Navy and Claire Bourgeois both of Verdunville, La; two grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Thomas, Sr., and Lou Ethel Hawkins; five brothers and one sister.
