Coby Lynn James

A visitation for Coby will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Mathews Baptist Church, 3966 LA-311, Houma, LA 70360. A funeral will occur Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 12:00 PM, also at St. Mathews Baptist Church, 3966 LA-311, Houma, LA 70360. A burial will follow at Crescent Farm Cemetery, 1216 Savanne Rd, Houma, LA 70360.

He is survived by his wife, Brandy Jarreau James of 23 years; children, Cobeelyn James, Johna Ali James, No'el James; his mother Bonnie James; one sister, Tonya Lauren Lyons; one brother, Corey Lyons; grandmother, Ruby Lyons Hamilton; aunts, Hattie James, Roslyn James, Naomie James and Stacy James; uncles, Steven James, Joseph James, Roy James, Michael James, William Hamilton, Carl Harding, Gregory Harding and Steve Hamilton and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Aa'Son James; his father, Laurence Matthews Lyons; his mother-in-law, Shelia Larpenter; grandparents, Charles and Rosemary James Welch; aunts, Betty James Holmes and Mary "Sue" Johnson and uncles, Clayton James, Bennie James and Lawrence James.
