Darrlyn Holmes

"The lord is my light and my salvation whom shall, I fear? The lord is the strength of my life of whom shall I be afraid?"

Darrlynn Denise Holmes peacefully entered eternal rest on Monday, March 3, 2025. Her Spirit took its flight at the call of the heavenly father to the mansion above prepared for them who love him.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Morning Star Baptist Church 120 Mission Blvd. Houma, Louisiana. Burial will follow service at the Woodlawn Ranch Cemetery Jim Bowie Road Houma, Louisiana.

She is survived by her daughter, Deriyan Linn Elizabeth Holmes of Houma, Louisiana and her mother, Daphne Elizabeth H. Holmes of Houma, Louisiana; along with a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Darryl Lynn Holmes; maternal grandparents, Louise A. Henry and Gilbert P. Henry; paternal grandparents, Eleanora Bolden and Clarence P. Holmes.

After graduation, she acquired her commercial drivers license CDL and began a truck driving career, driving for various companies in the Tri-Parish area. After suffering a back injury in an accident, she no longer was able to drive trucks. She then began her own transport business carrying passengers to and from different locations for a fee to support herself.
