Visitation and funeral services will be observed on Saturday, November 19, 2022, from 8:00 AM until funeral time at 10:00 AM at Jones Funeral Home 230 S. Hollywood Rd., Houma, LA 70360. Burial will follow at Deweyville Cemetery.
She is survived by her sons; Jessie Lightell (Mahalia); Phillip Melendez and Raymond Melendez, Jr. Daughters; Betty Juenigain, Sandra Melendez, Elizabeth Melendez and Keisha Barker; eighteen grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Morris Johnson, Sr., and Elizabeth W. Johnson. Husband; Raymond J. Melendez., Sr., and sons; Ernest Lightell and Benjamin Melendez. Brothers; Larry Johnson and Morris Johnson and sister; Marguerite Green.
