Donald Ray "Duck" Simpson

Visitation will be observed on Saturday December 9, 2017 from 8:00 AM until funeral services at 11:00 AM at the St. John Baptist Church Four Corners, LA, the Rev. Joseph Cormier, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Sorrel Community Cemetery in Sorrel.

Memories of "Duck," as he was known to many, will forever remain in the hearts of his loving wife of twenty-two years, Evelyn L. Charles Simpson of Jeanerette, LA; one daughter, April Charles of Franklin, LA; children he raised, Tremell Francis, Sr., Matthew Lewis, Pierre Lewis, Quincy Lewis, Tremika Francis and Kalyn I. Cormier; five brothers, Clenard Simpson, Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA, Herbert Simpson of Fayetteville, SC, Dennis Simpson of Abbeville, LA, Christopher Simpson of Four Corner, LA, and Joseph (Berndine) Simpson; one sister, Janet (Alray) Johnson all of Jeanerette, LA; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two nephews, one niece, three great nephews, one great niece; three brothers-in-law, Roland (Mary Alice) Charles, Sr., King (Patricia) Charles, Sr. all of Four Corners, LA and Leonard Ray Charles of Dallas, TX; four sisters-in-law, Martha Charles, Doretha Turner, and Ellen (Barry) Lewis all of Houston, TX and Verna (Percy) Jennings of Chicago, IL and a host of other relatives and friends.

Donald Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Clenard Simpson, Sr. and Essie Sorrell Simpson and both his maternal and paternal grandparents.
