Eric Gene ""Mitta"" Watson, Sr., age 60, a native and a resident of Morgan City, La., died Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at 2:10 PM at his residence. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Morgan City, La., from 9:00 AM until funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the Morgan City Cemetery. The East St. Mary Funeral Squad will perform at graveside. Eric leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Shirley Watson of Morgan City, La., three sons, Eric Gene Watson, Jr., Brian E. Watson and Blaze D. Watson all of Morgan City, La; one daughter, Erica C. Watson-Gaines of Morgan City, La; two brothers, Jackie Lee Watson and Jerald ""Jay"" Watson both of Morgan City, La; one sister, Joan Ann Harris of Morgan City; three grandchildren, Erielle Gaines, Theophalis Gaines, Jr., and Jayden C. Watson and a host of relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Watson and Clarissa Martin Watson.
