Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 29, 2017 at St. Matthews Baptist Church located at 3966 Hwy 311 in Houma, LA. Burial will follow in Southdown Cemetery.
She is survived by her sons, Charles and Willie Mason, Jr. (Yvette); daughters, Lorraine Short (Norris, Jr.), Sandra Kennedy (John, Sr.) and Sherril Evans (William); seventeen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; mother, Mary Louise Shelvin Matthews; sister, Verna Mae Bernard; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Willie Bill Mason; daughters, Rita and Christine Mason; grandson, John F. Kennedy, Jr.; father, Joseph Bernard; stepfather, Robert Matthews; sisters, Mary Ann Fusilier, Georgia Lou Little and Shirley Bernard.
