A public viewing will be conducted from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Jones Funeral Home chapel, 230 S Hollywood Road, Houma, LA, 70360. Burial will follow in Deweyville Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Cora Lagarde Smith; sons, George, Jr. (Elaine), and Kenneth Smith (Kathy); Anthony (Shirley) and Bruce Phillips, Sr. (Veronica); daughters, Carla Smith and Dwonna Collins (Harold); twenty-two grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Charles Ray Phillips; grandson, Bruce Phillips, Jr.; daughter, Traci Smith; granddaughter, Tamyra Lynn Smith; mother, Anita Brown (Lawrence, Sr.); father, Willard Smith; brother, Lawrence Brown, Jr.; sister, Lottie Brown.
