Gwendolyn Katherine Jones

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church 12911 E. Main Street Larose, LA from 9:00 AM until  Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow in the Holy Savior Catholic Church Cemetery in Lockport, LA.

Gwen leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Leonard E. Jones, III,; three daughters, Tranise Whitney Tyler (Michael), Brandi Whitney, and Richelle Whitney Bourda. She was the mother of two stepsons, Jeffery and Jude Lewis; one stepdaughter, Mikeall Ceasar; eleven grandchildren, Christopher, Brandon, and Breyden Whitney, Ethan Tyler, Jaxson and Jasmine Bourda, Stanley Tate, Brooklyn McLuckie, Carter and Oliver Lewis, Jennie Louise Hawkins; and great-grandson Krue Tate. She leaves behind one brother, Rodney C. Whitney, Sr. (Janice); one sister, Lynn Adams; two nephews, Rodney Whitney Jr. (Annetta), and Damien Adams (Daphne); two nieces, Yvette W. Pierre (Marcus) and Crystal W. Green (Tony); mother-in-law, Mrs. Jennie G. Jones; brother-in-law, Carl A. Jones; and a host of relatives and friends.

Gwen is preceded in death by her parents, Washington (Nick) Whitney and Adeline P. Whitney; sister, Gilda Whitney; uncles, Murray and Curtis Peterson; father-in-law, Leonard E. Jones, Jr.; two sisters-in-law, Nedra B. Whitney and Sr. Jennie L. Jones, S. S. F.; two brothers-in-law, Daniel Adams and Benjamin Jones; and her first husband Andre Walker.
