Hazel Charles Penns, age 60, a native of Jeanerette, LA and resident of Franklin, LA died Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 3:59 PM. Visitation will be Monday, July 29, 2013 at Morning Pilgrim Baptist Church, 510 Hubertville Rd, Jeanerette, La., from 10:00 AM until funeral service at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Hazel leaves to cherish her memories; five sons, Johnell Penns (Jessica)of Beaumont, TX., Jamie Penns, Jeremiah Penns, Anthony Penns and Tony Penns all of Jeanerette, La; a daughter, Marjorie Penns Lamar of Franklin, La., a brother, Luther Charles (Shirley) of Jeanerette, La; three sisters, Mary Ann C Frank(Floyd) and Irene Nerve (Polite) both of Jeanerette, La., and Betty Ann Marks (George) New Orleans, La., sixteen grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; Leroy Charles, Sr., and Marjorie August Charles, a brother, Leroy Charles, Jr., and a sister, Diane Charles.
