James Thompson, Sr.

A public viewing will be conducted from 8:00 a.m. until funeral time at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Jones Funeral Home chapel, 230 S. Hollywood Road, Houma, LA, 70360. Burial will follow in Southdown Cemetery.

He is survived by his sons, James, Jr., Jason, and Jonathan, Thompson, Timmy Sims, Quincy, Terry and Levi Brown; daughters, Jaylynn Douglas, Raven Sims (Jerod), Mary and Brandi Thompson, Cynthia Flukes (Clemon), Lisa Jackson (Eric), Louvinia Williams, Tasha Bond (Randolph, III) and Koyota Brown; thirty-two grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Louis (Rosa), Charles (Tiffany) and Richard Thompson (Rayetta); sisters, Delores Brown (Harry); great aunt, Bertha Harris; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Quinton Thompson; parents, John and Bernice Sneeze Thompson; wife, Amanda Douglas Thompson; siblings, Shirley Haley, Alberta Thompson, Cora Lee Hills, Rose Brown and Joseph (Gloria)Thompson; paternal grandparents, Joe and Albertha Thompson; maternal grandparents, Eddie and Kitty Sneeze.
