Ja'Ziyah Anye' Smith

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until Celebration of Life at 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at New First Corinthian Baptist Church 1114 Church St., Houma, Louisiana. Burial will follow in the Southdown Cemetery.

Ja’Ziyah Anye’ Smith was born on October 12, 2019, to the parentage of Jashawnia Taplett and Byron Smith. On Monday, June 11 at 12:03 am, Ja’Ziyah heard the voice of Jesus saying “come unto me and rest.”

Ja’Ziya Anye’ was a student at Pleasant Beginnings in Houma, Louisiana and was excited about attending pre-K this upcoming school year. Ja’Ziyah loved to sing, dance, get dressed and just look pretty. She was the sweetest, most humble spirited child we’ve ever seen. She loved her lip gloss and unicorns.

She was so much too so many people. She was a loving daughter, niece, sister, granddaughter, great granddaughter, and the perfect cousin.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories with her loving mother, Jashawnia Taplett, father, Byron Smith, brothers, Giovanni and Giovante, Jarvis, Ja’Zyron Smith, Za’Rone, and Ja’monte Smith, one sister, Brailyn, maternal grandparents, Yolanda Taplett and Steve Johnson, paternal grandparents, Vanessa Smith and Byron Miller, and a host of aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents the late Willie Davis, Leroy Robinson Sr, James Johnson, Jinnie Bea Johnson, Almeader Hawkins and a special cousin, Maurkeyah’ Taplett.
