Jeannette Franklin Jones

Visitation will be conducted from 9:00 am until funeral time at the church. The funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church, 183 Smith Lane, Houma, LA. Interment will follow in Southdown Cemetery.

She is survived by four sons, Edward Lawson (Andrea), Samuel Lawson, Charles Jones (Lashawn) and Stanley Jones; daughter, Janice Faye Lawson; 14 grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Edward and Kenneth Swing; eight sisters, Hilda Mae King; Maryola Messiah ( Keith), Alberta Carter (Keith), Stephanie Fusilier (Calvin), Cementris Wolfe, Donna, Leola and Amy Swing; son-in-law, Melvin Nelson; brother-in-law, Huey P. White; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry “Boo White” Jones; daughter, Debbie Lawson Nelson; grandson, Jaharuan Lawson; two great grandchildren, Zephany and Kruz Lawson; mother, Ivory Franklin King (stepfather, Charles King); father, Arthur Swing, Sr.; mother-in-law, Onedia Jones; seven brothers, Levi Johnson Sr. (Mary Lee), Samuel Franklin (Ophelia), Freddie, John Paul, Robert, Moses and Arthur Swing, Jr.; eight sisters, Kathy Warren (Ellis), Earline Lewis, Mary Brown (Kenneth), Nancy Harvey, Mabel Williams, Verna Harding, Yvonne Salsbury and Melvina Swing; and brothers-in-law, Roland Wolfe, Nathaniel White, Jr., and Clarence "Bill Dooly" Hawkins.
