Hello family,

It is with a heavy heart that i pin these words.  Mr. John was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, mentor and friend.  Mr. John and his family has been a great part of my family and always had great advice to share.  As a husband he always referred to the love he had for his wife.  As a father, set a sterling example of family and unity.  The love he had for his grandchildren was unmatched.  Everyone was made to feel like family and appreciated his wisdom.  There are so many fond memories of  seeing Mr. John sitting in his yard, chatting and greeting friends and neighbors.  Inquiring of their wellbeing and getting updates on family members that he had not seen in a while.  The lost of Mr. John will be felt by us all for sometime. I remember him giving comfort to  my family when my father died.  Life is truly like a mist, it flashes like light.  It does not end here, Jehovah will call our love ones and they will answer.  The life they will live in the future, in gods new world, will make our time apart seem like a day.  May Jehovah continue to be with your family until you reunite in gods new world.  Please accept our heartfelt condolences.

Cousin John you will be greatly missed. I always enjoyed talking with you and the funny things you would say. You put up a good fight and you lived a good and loving life with your family. Rest in peace cousin John.

Brother-in-Law: Ever since I've known you, you have been kind, gregarious, and generous--and don't forget, sharply dressed! I remember the wonderful times with you, Hallet and the kids in Louisiana and Los Angeles. Thank you for your open heart and doors, welcoming me and my family as we often stayed with you all when visiting home. Your immense love for family, those Saints, and all people will be forever cherished. I can still hear your strong, yet loving voice either in person or over the phone expressing the care and concern for each of us. We love and miss you--Bonnie!

Uncle John: Thank you for a lifetime of memories and kindness shown to me, Jaren and Jared. All of my life's memories include wonderful times spent in Louisiana. Whether summer stays or week-long visits, I always knew that my family was not bound by time or place. Thank you for always expressing genuine joy whenever I, and now Jared or Jaren accomplished something--your support meant so much--I could always anticipate your loving, "Hey Ma!" Thank you also for being a model of curiosity, knowledge, and the love of history--I will never forget the many conversations and newspaper clippings that encouraged research and continuous learning. You were an avid reader, historian, and lover of life!  Uncle John, something that I conveyed, but want to reiterate, is your sincere kindness and care toward Jared and Jaren as it meant so much to me--I knew that I had an Elder in the Village always looking out for them. When Jared visited your home, you welcomed him and always let each of them know that your love extended to all of us--I will forever be grateful.

Your laughter and wit were also unmatched as I fondly remember your trip to Los Angeles and the infamous visit to the Arsenio Hall Show! I will never forget your hilarious response of not attending the show following Auntie and Billie's nationwide cameo at the end of the show--"Big Dummy!!!" 

As we honor your tremendous life and memory, we thank you for a life well-lived and loved.

The King of our castle 

We have lost the king of our castle He gave his all and did his best 
He was a warrior, as he fought and defeated his other illnesses and passed in flying colors as he slayed life’s test

He has been battling his health war for so long
Still he constantly  encouraged us to keep our faith and be strong

He defended the faith of his family and others that he loved before he he dedicated his life
He gave credit to Jehovah God along with his kids and most of all,his devoted wife

Jehovah God will give all of us the strength to comfort each other and endure
Christ Jesus gave his life to  end sickness and death, a promise Jehovah God will keep for sure

We are thankful  to Jehovah God for the years we shared with you
We are in a state of shock at present, and don’t know what to do

I was so sorry to hear the news about Big John, my heart goes out to you Hal and the rest of the family. Even though I left Thibodaux I still remember all the talks John and I had, he’s in one recliner and I’m in another.
I don’t have to mention the scripture at John 5: 28,28 because you already know it, so let’s all look forward to that.

I miss, John, my brother-in-law and friend.  
 I remember the good times that we had.  Our phone calls always included  lots of laughter because of your great sense of humor  I remember when you traveled to California and you thought the mountains were going to cave in on you, they just seemed to close for comfort.  All  you could think about was getting as far away from those mountains as possible.  We use to laugh about that. 
 I remember playing golf in your back yard, which is large enough to be a golf course.  We both loved the old-time blues and we never had a mis-understanding or a cross word.  I appreciate your positive attitude and the love you showed for your  family, as well as the admiration  you had for your wife, who you always thought highly of. 
Thank you, John, for the memories and for the name you always called me Coco-Mo-Jo.

Daddy, I miss you so much. I miss your hugs and kisses. Your song will play in my heart forever. Thank you for loving me, protecting me and caring for me. I have so many memories to cherish. We shared some good times together. I will never forget the times when I would ride your bus to school. I knew I was safe and sound because you were the driver, the person behind the wheel. Thank you for our long, extensive and heart to heart conversations about family history and many other historical topics that weighed on your mind. We cried together. You taught me a lot about life, friendship and love. I live by your standards. Thank you for walking me down the aisle when I married Damon, who you grew to love just like a son. Thank you for loving and caring for momma for more than 61 years. That’s a long time. A true love story. I am so happy that you dedicated your life to Jehovah God and got baptized. You accepted the leadership of Jesus Christ and you progressed in knowledge and wisdom. I love, love, love you Daddy. I find so much peace in the fact that you knew I loved you.  I long for that glorious day when I will reunite with you on a perfect paradise earth. More hugs and kisses. Your sweet, precious little girl forever.

Mr. John, our big loving teddy bear! In the last few years we really got to know him well and learned that he was such a kind, loving, and reasonable man. Our visits to encourage him spiritually always encouraged us instead. He had such a deep capacity for love and he showed that with his deep love for our Creator, Jehovah. He always told us he loved our sons like his own. What mom and dad wouldn’t just cherish that thought. He had such a deep love for his wife and children also; they were his life! We look forward to seeing him soon in the resurrection where that is promised to many (John 5:28,29) And then we will be able to give you a great big teddy bear hug .
