Lanuel Joseph James, Jr., 77, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of New Orleans, died Thursday, October 09, 2014 at 7:24 p.m. at Touro Infirmary Hospital in New Orleans, LA. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at the chapel. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Houma, 6775 West Park Avenue, Houma, LA 70364. Burial will follow in Southdown Cemetery. He is survived by: former wife, Rosetta Williams-James; five sons, Lanuel, III. (Dana) James, Ronald (Sharon) James, Elliot James, Rudolph (Brandy) James and Darnell James; one daughter, Carolyn Johnson; five sisters, Louise (Frank) Parker, Gloria Miller, Inez James, Lillian James and Shirley Watson; one brother, Ben Robinson; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Lanuel, Sr. and Lillian Turner-James and sister, Lillie Mae Madison. Jones Funeral Home of Houma in charge of arrangements.
