Leona M. Walters, age 60, a resident and native of Franklin, La., died Sunday, July 31st at 11:58 PM at University Medical Center-Lafayette. Visitation will be Saturday, August 6, 2011 at St. Joseph Baptist Church in the St. Joseph Community from 10:00 AM until funeral at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in the Macedonia Baptist Cemetery in Ashton, La. Leona leaves to cherish her memory; five sons, Anthony Walters, Albert Walters, III, Micheal Walters, Christopher Walters, and Travis Walters all of Franklin, La; one daughter, Jeanette (McKinley) Gabriel of Lafayette, La; four brothers, Freddie Williams, Calvin Gradley and Leo Gradley, Jr. all of Franklin, La., and Raymond Gradley of Atlanta, GA; four sisters, Margarite Gash, Edora Mitchell, Carolyn Small and Hilda Adams all of Franklin, La., six grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
