

Visitation will be observed on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church, 1110 Barrow Street Franklin, LA, from 9:00 AM until military honors and funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM. The Reverend Terry L. Joseph, Sr., will officiate the services. Burial will follow funeral services in the Nazarene Cemetery in Verdunville, LA.
Leonard Allen Marshall Sr. was born on February 15, 1932 to the union of Isiah Joseph Robertson and Juanita Ann Marshall of 517 Robertson Street in Franklin Louisiana. He resided at this address until his 16th birthday before joining the military. Mr. Marshall was a graduate of Willow Street High School, a segregated school built in the early 1900’s primarily for black student enrollment. While enrolled at the school, he dated and went on to marry the former, Nellie Selena Gray.
Leonard, Sr. was a Veteran of the United States Army, receiving an honorable discharge.
Leonard, Sr. leaves to cherish his memory seven children including his: five sons, Leonard A. (fiancée Lisa Norcia) Marshall, Jr.; Christopher Andre Marshall, Kenneth Isiah (Pamela) Marshall, Byron Joseph Marshall, and Shawn Paul (Ginger) Marshall, Sr.; two daughters, Delma Jean Marshall, Juanita Ann (Michael) Marshall Hall; his grandchildren, Jonathon Marshall, Christopher, Jr. and Teyekah Marshall, Ashley Nicole Marshall, Arianna Nicole Marshall, Aliria Marshall, Bianca Matthew and Rebekah Hall, De Andre Marshall, Madison Hall, Darien Marshall, Shawn (Ainsley) Marshall, Jr., and J’Ajiah Marshall; his great grandchildren, Karson and Kash Marshall, Chance and Chase; a brother-in-law, John B. (Sheila) Darrell and their children and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Leonard Sr. was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Selena Gray Marshall who shared deep love and marriage for fifty-five years and his parents, Isiah Robertson and Juanita Ann Marshall of Franklin, LA.
Leonard A. Marshall Sr. passed away in peace on Monday evening after speaking with his sons, Leonard and Kenneth and his daughter/caregiver, Delma Jean Marshall by his side.
