Lillie Mae Smith-Gray

Lillie Gray, age 83, a resident and native of Jeanerette, La., died Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia, La., at 2:46 AM. Visitation will be Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Jones Funeral Home in Jeanerette, La., from 9:00 AM until funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial is at the Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette, La. Lillie Mae ""Smith"" Gray was born to the late Bruni Smith and Emily Johnson on July 18, 1928 in Jeanerette, La. On March 28, 2012 at 2:46am she reach out her hands and she was called home to be with her Lord and Savior. She is preceded in death by her husband James Gray, her son Bobby Lee ""Nick"" Smith, her adopted son Joseph ""Cubby"" Mitchell, a brother Cleo Johnson, a grandson John Smith of California, a great granddaughter Rae Morgan Lavigne of Houston, TX and close friend Ben Mitchell of Jeanerette, and a brother-in-law, Northern Gibson of Jeanerette, La. She leaves behind a sister Patricia Gibson of Jeanerette, La. a brother Horace (Linda) Johnson of Houston, TX. She also leaves seven grandchildren Mark Smith of New Orleans, Larry Smith, Kelly Smith, Dorothy Smith and Belinda Lavigne & (husband) Ray Lavigne, Kakeena Sigur of Florida, a daughter in law Ruth Smith of Houston, TX. eight great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
