Martina Lucille Miller

A public viewing will be conducted from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 28, 2020 at New Rising Sun Baptist Church, 230 St. Charles Street in Houma. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in the LA National Cemetery, 300 W. Mount Pleasant Road, Zachary, LA 70791.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimri Miller; four grandchildren, Tia Smith Bolton, Ebony Smith, Nathaniel Smith and Kyla Miller; great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Tailyn, Journey and Dillon; brother, Ghentel Chambers (Priscilla); sister, Bettye Jo Buckner; sisters-in-law, Willie Mae Miller Galloway, Delores M. Woodruff, and Joyce (Albert) Mann; son-in-law, Terry Washington; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Miller; daughter, Joaquina Miller Washington; parents, James, Sr. and Hattie Lucille Perry Chambers; brother, James Chambers; sisters, Shirley Melrose, Willadean Simmons and Laverne Stevenson.

She was a retired educator with the Terrebonne Parish School system.
