Rivers Mitchell

Rivers Mitchell, age 76, a resident of Four Corners, La., died Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 6:15 am at his residence. Visitation will be Thursday, March 28, 2013 at St. John Baptist Church in Four Corners, La., from 9:00 AM until funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the Sorrell Community Cemetery. Rivers leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Dorothy Polidore Mitchell of Four Corners, La., eight sons: Clegis Poledore, Charles L. Poledore and Herman R. Mitchell all of Four Corners, Oscar Poledore and Rivers Polidore of Sorrell, Melvin Polidore of Jeanerette, William Polidore of Carencro, & Fred Polidore of Enterprise, AL; and one adopted son, Junius Taylor of Four Corner's, La; five sisters: Doretha Charles, Oreila Keys and Sophia Sutton all of Four Corners, Clara Darby of Beaumont, Tx., and Ora Lee Keal of Sorrell, La; one uncle, Steven Edwards of Four Corners, La; 19 grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, William Mitchell and Albertha C. Mitchell, one brother, Joseph Charles, two sisters: Mary Ann Jack & Josephine Harding.
