

Rose Mary Singleton, a native of Gibson, LA, and a resident of Patterson, LA, was born December 27, 1948 to the late Mary and Clarence McGuire, Sr. She departed this life on June 25, 2023 at 5:38 PM at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center in Thibodaux, LA to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Beulah Baptist Church by the late Rev. Albert Royal. Rose was a devoted member of Pilgrim Grove Baptist Church for many years where she served as secretary.
She was educated in the Terrebonne Parish school system where she attended Southdown High School. After high school, she later married the late Robert Singleton. Born to this union were two daughters, Nikki and Nakisha. Rose, affectionately known as Nanny Rose to many, was dearly loved by her family and friends and especially loved by her two devoted daughters. Rose loved to cook and spend time with her children and grandchildren.
Family and friends of Rose Mary are invited to attend the Visitation on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at House of Prayer Church, 2229 LA-3185 Thibodaux, LA from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with Funeral Services immediately following. She will be laid to rest in Union Bethel Cemetery.
She leaves to cherish Nikki (Cordell) Singleton-Jackson of Thibodaux, LA and Nakisha Singleton of Patterson, LA., four grandchildren: Chante’ (Michael) Francis, Jaelon Singleton, Brayden Jackson; and Hailey Jackson, five sisters: Brenda Bonnet and Bernita McGuire of Baton Rouge LA, Patricia (Alvin) Jones of Morgan City, LA, Sylvia McGuire and Rosetta Watson of Houma, LA; and Paul McGuire of Houma, LA, godchildren: Gerren Thibodeaux and Deondre Richardson, devoted friend Claudette Dugar, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Rose is preceded in death by her husband Robert Singleton, parents Clarence and Mary McGuire, two sisters Mildred Jenkins and Paulette Randall; three brothers Claude McGuire, James McGuire, and Clarence McGuire, Jr., and two godchildren Kashera Jones and Levar Johnson.
