Sidney Mitchell, age 81, a native of Morgan City, La., and a resident of Patterson, La., died Saturday, March 20th at the Patterson HealthCare Center at 6:30 AM. Visitation will be at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Morgan City, Friday, March 26, 2010 from 11:00 Am until funeral at 2:00 PM. Burial in Morgan City Cemetery Sidney was survived by two sons; Melvin (Florinda) Jackson of Morgan City and John Dugan of Baton Rouge, La., two sisters, Ruth M. Cross of Morgan City and Janet Daniels of Franklin, La., one stepdaughter, Diane Jones of Texas, two stepsons, James Escort and Kenneth Escort, Sr. both of Morgan City, La., four grandchildren and a host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
