Abel Ricardo “Richard” Becerra was born October 10, 1952, in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Abel Reyna Becerra and Alice Gonzalez. Richard left to be with the Lord on November 21, 2024, at 3:48 a.m. at the age of 72. He was surrounded by all four of his daughters, exactly the way he requested. He wanted to be home with his family where he could be at peace.
Richard began his career in Houston at Marine & Petroleum Mfg., Inc. While working at M&P he invented the Graphonic Gasket. He loved building and racing cars, fishing, golfing, shuffleboard and was a diehard Houston Texans fan. He will be remembered for the love of his black corvette and his family.
Richard leaves behind his four daughters, Michelle Becerra, Angela Becerra, Jennifer Becerra, Cristal Becerra, mother, Alice Gonzalez, siblings, Benjamin Becerra, David Becerra, Mary Becerra, Beverlyn Mendez, and Rhonda Becerra. He treasured his time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Richard looked forward to being reunited with his grandparents, father, Abel Reyna Becerra, brothers, Robert Stephen Becerra, and Patrick Armando Becerra.
Our family thanks everyone that has stayed in touch over the years. He valued your friendships and asked that we all remain strong during this time. We wish to express our sincere gratitude to the staff at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Cypress for their compassionate care.
We will always carry his memory in our hearts. In the words of our father, Richard, “I’ve lived a life that’s full and I did it my way.”
