She was born in Hazel Green, Alabama on April 4, 1929 as the oldest of five siblings, growing up during the great depression era as a child of a migrant farm worker. Louise was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Justin Fleming.
Addie was a homemaker and caretaker for children during her early years in Oak Forest, and later was known in the Heights as "the cashier lady" at Yale St. Grill & Pharmacy for several decades. She had a passion for baking cakes, cookies, and candy; and her baked goods were often bid up highly and fought over at local charity fund raisers. Louise also adored all things television and movies and had a collection of over 700 VHS tapes. Her other passion was animals; she loved all four-legged creatures greatly, providing meals and beds for every stray in the neighborhood.
Louise was survived by her son, Jay B. Fleming and wife Lynn; her granddaughter Dr. Casey Berry, and husband Dr. Grant Berry; her brother J.W. Myers; her sister Peggy Heiman and husband Daniel; and an extended family of nieces, nephews, and their children and close friends.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 9:45 am, November 30th, at American Heritage, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038
