

Adelene Pratho Hohlt, 87, of Houston, passed away on June 22, 2021 in her home at Copperfield Estates Retirement Community. She was born in Houston, Texas on October 12, 1933 at Memorial Hospital to Ella Melde and Albert Pratho. She was baptized on October 29, 1933 at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church in Houston by Pastor H. Plackemaeier. She was confirmed on March 30, 1947 t Messiah Lutheran Church by Pastor W. M. Schreiner. Her memory verse is from Romans 5:1 " Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."
She was married to Horace Hohlt on April 14, 1956 at Messiah Lutheran Church by Pastor W. M Schreiner. They were members of Pilgrim Lutheran Church during their 44 years of marriage until his death on August 19, 1998. She joined St. John Lutheran Church after moving to the Cypress area in 2005 and was a member there at the time of her death. Living at Copperfield, she regularly attended Sunday afternoon chapel services officiated by Jonathan Semro, Pastor of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ella and Albert Pratho, her husband, Horace and a son, Dwayne who passed away unexpectedly on October 24, 2015. She is survived by her son, David, and his wife Chris of Cypress, her sister, Carol Grossman of Austin, her daughter-in-law, Heather of Indianapolis, her niece, Cara McQuiston and husband Michael of Cypress, and four grandchildren: Brandon and wife, Kim; Katelin and husband, Kyle; Drew and Paige.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Copperfield Estates at a later date.
