Aidan William McSpadden, age 3, went home to Heaven on Friday, May 4, 2012, at 3:00 in the afternoon. He was born on January 13, 2009 to loving parents Jared and Kelli McSpadden. Brought into this earthly world only a few short years ago, our little angel landed into our life. We are honored that God chose us to be his parents and saddened that He wanted him back so soon. Aidan was put on this earth for so many reasons and this is evident from all of those who loved him. His lifetime was filled with struggles but his face was only filled with smiles. That smile, he could melt anyone’s heart, those eyes so soft and warm, that heart as big as Heaven itself. We knew from the day he was born that he was a special boy.
Aidan’s journey began as a healthy baby boy that came into the world a few weeks too soon. He was a wonderful, happy baby and had two very proud parents. On June 18, 2010, at only 17 months old, both his life and ours were forever changed. He was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He battled strongly every day since then. He endured numerous rounds of chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, all with a smile on his face and bacon in his mouth. He was the most courageous person that we ever knew. His love of life was contagious. He touched the hearts of even those who never met him. He will be missed dearly.
Aidan is survived by his parents Jared and Kelli (Klein) McSpadden, his brother Jaxon, his maternal grandparents, Bob & Judy Klein of Americas, GA, and his paternal grandparents, Don & Annette McSpadden of Jennings, LA. He also leaves behind aunts and uncles: Jed McSpadden, Joel McSpadden, Jane McSpadden Miller and husband Greg, Jennifer McSpadden Young and husband Troy, Heidi Molgaard and husband Danny, Courtney Klein Adkins and husband Garrett, as well as many cousins, a large extended family and a host of friends, children and adults alike.
The Celebration of Aidan’s life will be held at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 6622 Haskell, Houston, TX. The celebration will begin at 4:00 PM with visitation in the Church. A Memorial Mass will be held at 6:00 PM. After the Mass, a reception to remember and celebrate Aidan’s life will be held in the church community center.
