Albernita Travis

On May 18, 2021, our family’s colorful butterfly flew away from us and entered a new realm of heavenly splendor. Albernita Paul Travis was born November 18, 1966 in Houston, TX to the loving parentage of Eddie Paul, Sr. and Beatrice Allen Paul. She was the youngest of four children. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and was an active member of Lakewood Church. Albernita attended and was the proud graduate of Sam Houston High School and the University of Houston, where she earned a BBA in Management in 1997. She later became certified as a teacher and joined the staff of the Houston Independent School District, where she enjoyed teaching first grade at Shadydale Elementary School.

"Albo" as was her family nickname, was known for her vibrant personality and megawatt smile. She loved outdoor activities, dancing, cycling, jogging and coloring as a way to relax. Her energy and enthusiasm radiated throughout any room she entered. She will be greatly missed.

Albernita was preceded in death by her grandparents Emory and Alberta Allen; James Lowe and Hattie Paul Lowe. Left to cherish her memory are her parents Eddie Paul, Sr. and Beatrice Allen Paul; two sisters Andre’ Renee Paul and Cynthia Ann Bates; her brother Eddie Paul, Jr; nieces Myisha Dale (Torrey), Charisa Sutton (Tristen), Kendra Bates, Ashley Paul; nephew Eddie Paul, III; great nieces Nevaeh Wilburn, Amiyah Dale, Elaina Dunson; and great nephews Tyler Dale and Taylan Dale, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
