

Born on February 12, 1924 in Melchor Ocampo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
Passed peacefully on Thanksgiving Day, 2023 at his home in Sugar Land, TX.
Alejo came to America as a teen, fulfilling his mother's dream. Alejo believed in the American Dream. During his lifetime he helped many family members and friends get their start in America.
He married his childhood sweetheart, Julia, in 1952. They were married until her passing in October of 2021.
He began working in Texas and California. He started his restaurant business in Houston in 1979.
He taught himself English through a mail order course. He liked to read and study. He had a green thumb and loved to garden.
His oldest child, his son Victor, passed in 2022.
Alejo is survived by his three daughters. Martha Sweigart, husband Michael; Celeste Garcia; and Adriana Garner, husband James.
Alejo has four grandchildren. Juan Carlos Garcia, wife Krissy; Victor Jr. Garcia, wife Jenn; Jacob Garner, wife Abigail; and Cassidy Garner and friend (as Alejo would say) Cam Cullivan. Alejo also has three great-grandchildren. Hannah Garcia, A.J. Garcia, and Ethan Garcia. He is also survived by a large extended family and friends.
Rest in Peace Papi/Grandpa. You are missed.
