

Kay was born in Charleston, Mississippi on February 27, 1944. She was the oldest of three sisters. At an early age, her family moved to Texas. She graduated as the Salutatorian from Bridge City High School, and she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from Lamar University in Beaumont, Tx.
Kay loved reading books! She shared her passion for reading with her young students. She also loved teaching math and science. She was a dedicated educator for 37 years throughout the Houston Metro area. She mainly worked in Alief ISD at Chambers Elementary, Youens Elementary, and Rees Elementary. Kay was a caring, encouraging, and knowledgeable teacher. She was a woman of grace, grit, great patience, and perseverance.
Kay and Clarence met in the summer of 1962. After Kay graduated from college and while Clarence was still in the Air Force, they were married at First Baptist Church in Bridge City, Tx on April 9, 1966. They were married for 58 years! They started their family on November 11, 1970, with the birth of their only child Cynthia Anne (Cindy) in Houston, Tx. Kay was a loving and supportive mother who never missed any of Cindy’s activities.
After retirement in 2004, Kay and Clarence enjoyed traveling all over the world. They especially loved visiting Cindy and her husband Bret when they lived in Vancouver, Atlanta, London, and Denver. They became grandparents in 2009 with the birth of their granddaughter, Mia London Bolin. Kay showered her granddaughter with so much love and read books to her at every visit! Her sweet and gentle spirit will be dearly missed.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents Leslie and Margaret Pearson and her sister Dr. Nancy Adams. Kay is survived by her husband Clarence Bedsole; her daughter Cindy Bolin and her husband Bret Bolin, and her granddaughter Mia Bolin of Denver, Co; and her sister Ruth Pearson of Houston, Tx.
