Dr. Allan Ormsby McIntyre, age 85, of Houston, passed away March 4th, 2015. Dr. McIntyre was born on March 23, 1929 in New York City. He grew up in Houston and graduated from Lamar High School. He served in the U. S. Army and saw overseas duty in Korea. He graduated from Louisiana State University and earned a doctorate in English Literature from the University of Texas. He had a distinguished teaching career at the University of Las Vegas, University of New Orleans, William Woods College, Mississippi State University and Texas College in Tyler, TX. He was preceded in death by his brother Richard Rawlings McIntyre and sisters Mary Shelley McIntyre and Verna Marguerite McIntyre. Dr. McIntyre is interred at Forest Park Lawndale, Houston. He is loved and missed by his nephews, Richard McIntyre and wife Bonnie, Steve McIntyre and wife Cynthia, David McIntyre and wife Susan. Rest in Peace.
