Although Amali's life would seem short to many, those who have witnessed his story understand that the quality of his existence far exceeded the quality of time his physical body spent on earth. His gentle smile, just like sunshine would light up the room and was infectious when he chose to share it with those that were very lucky to see it. Even though he didn’t speak a word, his voice and thoughts could also be heard through his expressions and his laughter would genuinely warm our souls.
Amali's life could best be characterized by FAITH, courage, strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome all odds. For all intents and purposes, medical professionals did not expect him to make it to 30 weeks in the womb, and when he did, they did not expect him to live after birth, and when he did, they did not expect him to turn a year old, yet again, he proved them wrong and had a full, impactful, and joyous life for the nearly three years that his body spent on this earth. Although his earthly body ultimately failed, his beautiful, strong spirit will live on forever.
Amali is survived by his parents, Erick and Melissa Rainosek, his grandparents, Joyce and Isaac, and his grandmother, Elizabeth Perez. His life’s purpose is best described by the bible verse in Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” for indeed, anyone who was lucky enough to meet Amali, did glorify God.
