My Dearest Aunt Mel
 Over the past 20 plus years, she was my confidant, counselor, financial advisor, comforter, and one of my greatest cheerleaders. Aunt Mel provided sound, practical and relevant guidance. Her life was a living testament and example for my generation of what a virtuous woman looks like. She loved the Lord, her children and family, demonstrated an excellent work ethic, and accomplished her goals through dedication and perseverance. For many years, Friday night was our date night. We would talk, laugh and cry together for hours.  Stories were shared about her life that were hilarious, encouraging, and inspiring. As the years progressed and her health gradually declined, the lengthy conversations were shortened, but still full of love and Godly counsel. Aunt Mel always advised me to seek God and to trust Him completely. As I experienced trials in my life, she was the pillar of strength that I needed. Together, we rejoiced and celebrated as God gave the victory over these obstacles. She never ceased to tell me how proud she was of me and she helped me to believe that I could accomplish anything, as long as I sought the Lord first. 
I will forever miss her hearty laugh, encouragement and prayers. But, I will forever cherish those memories and am forever grateful to have been blessed with the opportunity to be a part of her life.

My dear, friend, patient, mother/advisor/counselor Amelda Rutherford, you will always be missed. Your smiling countenance lights up any space you entered whether you were just smiling, talking or engaging with others around. I will never forget your love for the things of the Lord, your family and people in general. I had the privilege of escorting her to San Antonio to be a patient in a class of doctors, Mother Rutherford had them all in stitches. She could be serious and very intuitive when necessary and such a sport playing her games of ludo and dominoes. Our condolences to the family. May the God of all comfort, comfort you with His comfort, love and peace. You are all in our prayers. She has completed her journey in this life and is now resting in her Saviour’s arms. I  will cherish some great memories being with Mother Rutherford..  She always made sure we had a brief conversation about me being in law-enforcement 😊.

All the good time and moments of visitations  shared with sister Rutherford linger. We remember dearly her love for people, her counsel, and love for God. We remember the radiance and smile in her face every time the women ministry of HISDA church visits her. 
We were able to have a recorded video of her where she clearly narrated that she was ready to meet the Lord and testified of many times God gave her the privilege to live.
May the Lord comfort the family, the children, and her lovely husband who remained dutiful and loving till the end. 
May God help those of us privilege to be on another wake up list this day to use our time well and live for Jesus all through so that when Jesus comes again we can reunite with all our loved ones we missed so much.

I met Amelda when she was living in Lakeland Florida. We became friends immediately and were friends until the day she died. She and my older sister were friends first but when my sister died She took me under her wings. She was a loyal and faithful person. What I remember most was her beautiful voice. I love music so we had that in common. Whenever I was asked to sing at church I would call her and sang three songs to her and she would choose the one she thinks I should sing. She wanted me to sing "Does Jesus cares" at her funeral. Another memory was the love she had for her children. A mother's love.
She loved her children and although I have never met them I know everyone. They were her pride and joy. I will miss her tremendously. May her soul rest in peace.

Even though we didn't talk as much as I would have liked too. You still were very dear In my heart and will always be my Granny, but now you are in God's kingdom watching down over us. And I I will always cherish the time I Spend with you.

Mel, my dear, thank you for being my kind, loving sister for many years. We grew up as a loving, caring family. Even though we were so far apart, we always kept in touch.
On Wednesday 27th October you opened your eyes during a video call that was kindly organised by Cliff. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to see your beautiful face one last time and give you my love. I chatted with you for a while and knew that you could hear me say goodbye. 
Now I’m saying good night and may God keep you in his loving, tender care.

Sister Rutherford I remember the first day I met you in Houston international SDA , a day I will never forget, and ever since that day we connects and the rest is history. I will always remember your love , prayers, your smile and the times we spent having lots of conversations, may you sleep in peace my beautiful sister, God know your pain and he see it fit to take you home, my condolences to your family and friends. We love you and will always keep your memories  of your kindness and your love for others in our heart.

Grandma, thank you for loving me, teaching me and laughing with me! You taught me so much about working hard, saving my money and being independent, and I appreciated every moment we spent together! I will miss your smile, going to get our nails done together, shopping, and laughing until we couldn't breathe. Thank you for being supportive of me, honest and just being you. Amelda  (Mom), was an amazing second Mother and friend in my life.  We spoke almost daily for many years.  I will miss her voice, her smile and her advice. She listened to my problems and shared in my joys. She told me how proud of me she was and that she loved me. She will always hold a special place in my heart. I LOVE YOU MOM 💝
