Angela Adell Leal

Angela Adell Leal (Mayes) born November 29, 1981, died peacefully surrounded by the loving embrace of her family and dear friends on October 26, 2021, after fighting a courageous battle with health issues that started after a traumatic car/train wreck in 2010. After several years of surgery and other health complications, she came back stronger than ever and enjoyed life to the fullest. In the end, her body gave out, but she never lost her hope, her sharp sense of humor or her tremendous love for her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Deborah Kay (Ulicnik) Mayes and her sister, Jennifer Nicole Mayes.

Angela was a devoted mother to her daughter, Emily Margret Leal, who she lovingly nicknamed "Emsters". Emily was her pride and joy and Angela was the best mother in the world to her little girl. The unconditional love she gave Emily was something that neither one of them would ever trade for the world. Besides Emily, she leaves behind her loving father, John Gordon Mayes (Papa John), her brother, John Thomas Mayes (JT), his wife Nancy Mayes and their son Jeremiah William Mayes (Jdubb). Angela also had numerous other relatives and many friends. She is now our special angel in heaven and will live forever in our hearts. She's no longer in pain and has been reunited with her mother and sister. She will watch over Emily and will shine her light upon us all. When we look up at the starts at night or see the sun shine each day. Angela will be missed but never forgotten...we love you and will see you again someday!

A visitation for Angela will be held Tuesday, November 9, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
