Aniseto Ruiz

Aniseto Ruiz, age 81, of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 10, 2021. Aniseto was born in Port Lavaca, Texas on April 17, 1940 to parents Meregilda (Velasquez) Ruiz and Feleciano Ruiz. In his younger days, he would help his family by picking cotton and shacking oysters. When he graduated from Calhoun High School, he came to Houston and met Antionette Hernandez. They were married for 56 years and had one child, James Alfred Ruiz. He received an associates degree from a community college. Aniseto was a lab technician for the Harris Co. Hospital district for 40 years. He enjoyed his life and loved spending time with his family, dog "Orbit" and cat "Bozo".

Aniseto is preceded in death by his wife Antoinette H. Ruiz; father Felciano Ruiz; mother Meregilda (Velasquez) Ruiz; sister Isabel Villareal; and brothers Frank V. Ruiz and Tommy Ramirez. He is survived by his son James Alfred Ruiz and his wife Ruby A. Ruiz; grandchildren Joe Alfred Ruiz, John Anthony Ruiz; great grandchild Zachary Elijah Ruiz; and sisters Natividad Reyes and Margaret Flores.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will take place on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the Grand Chapel at Brookside followed by a committal service at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060.

Serving as pallbearers are Joe Ruiz, John Ruiz, Roy Requena, Eric Salinas, James Ruiz and Juan Martinez.
