Annette Moss

Annette Wilkins Moss, age 83, passed away in Houston, Texas on Friday, February 18, 2022. Annette was born in Houston on January 6, 1939 to parents Raymond and LaBelle Wilkins. She spent her entire lifetime in Houston, marrying Jerry Moss in 1958 after graduating from Sam Houston High School. Annette and Jerry raised three children; Rusty, Cindy and Missie. She worked in many capacities at Sears Roebuck & Co., retiring in 2004 after 30 years of service.

Annette had a wide variety of interests that centered around her faith and service to her family and community. She was a longtime and active member of Airline Manor Baptist Church and previously played piano accompaniment at Lindale Baptist Church. She loved music, especially traditional hymns (also, Elvis). She was a skilled seamstress, sewing, knitting, quilting and crocheting and she made many items for charities. Annette was also active for many years at the Doss Park Community Center, where she clipped coupons to send to service members overseas and practiced yoga. During her parents later years, she would go visit them every day and saw to their care and comfort.

Annette was predeceased by her parents, LaBelle and Raymond, and her husband, Jerry. She is also predeceased by her only sibling, her brother Raymond Wilkins, Jr. She is survived by her children, son Rusty Moss, daughter Cindy and husband Curry Haley, and daughter Missie Moss and close friend Jimmy Buehring. Annette is also survived by her sister-in-laws Patsy Wilkins and Elin Moss, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive guest for a visitation on Monday, February 28, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. Funeral services will follow and begin promptly at 2:00 PM in the Family Chapel at Brookside, followed by a burial in Brookside Memorial Park.
