

Anthony Gene Schillaci, 92 passed away at home Saturday, January 31, 2026. He was the oldest son, born to Lena and Samuel Schillaci on June 18, 1933 in Houston, Texas. Anthony is preceded in death by his parents, Lena Marie Savarino Schillaci and Samuel Schillaci, brother Joseph Schillaci and daughter Leanne Taylor Goodwin.
He will sadly be missed by his wife, Janet Schillaci, who he was married to for 45 years. He is survived by his children, Samuel Schillaci, Bonnie and husband Jeff Glover, John and wife Lisa Schillaci and Jessica Barger. He had 6 grandchildren, Natalie Schillaci Powers and husband Jason Powers, Anthony Schillaci and wife Sally Schillaci, Savannah Schillaci Cavazos and husband, Carlos Cavazos, Samantha McClendon, Nikolas Schillaci and wife, Taylor Schillaci and Caroline Schillaci. He also had five great grandchildren, Jackson, Regan and Madison Powers, Alexander Cavazos and Penelope Schillaci.
He found fulfillment in sharing stories of his Italian heritage and baking traditional holiday cookies using century-old family recipes. He always loved giving these cookies away, especially at Christmas. He enjoyed playing golf and loved sharing his tips on golf with everyone. Anthony was a native Houstonian and went to Stephen F. Austin high school and played on their baseball team as a catcher. He loved watching golf and baseball, which was his favorite pastime. His favorite story was about the time he met Babe Ruth at Buff Stadium in Houston, Texas and he also met several famous golf legends, throughout his lifetime.
A memorial service to honor Anthony’s life is scheduled for February 13, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at Brookside Funeral Home-Cypress Creek, 9149 Hwy. 6 N, Houston, Texas. All relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and join in remembrance.
