Arlie Alice Eldridge passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at the age of 75. She was born in Houston, Texas on April 16, 1941 to James Elwood and Arlie Elizabeth Moore. She attended Travis Elementary, Hogg Jr. High, and Reagan High School. As a young adult she met the love of her life Frank Milton Eldridge and they enjoyed 52+ years of marriage before Frank went to be with the Lord in May 2015. As a young mother she loved doing volunteer work. She was involved with the Senior Citizens and Meals On Wheels at their local church and was a PTA President. As the children got older Arlie tried out bowling and took to it like her father did many years before her. She traveled all over Texas and the U.S. bowling in State and National tournaments. She also became a Jr. bowling coach when her children wanted to start bowling. Arlie and Frank spent most of their lives in Houston, but had to transfer to Pennsylvania with his job at AT&T for a few years. They settled back in Texas after Frank retired and she started working with her sister Theda Conner at the Episcopal Diocese of Texas. She had such a fulfilling job there as the Insurance Administrator and secretary to the Treasurer. She helped the clergy and staff with their insurance needs for over 20+ years and decided it was time to retire and start traveling. Those trips included a cruise to Alaska and her favorite memories were of the Elvis cruises she took.
Arlie is survived by her daughter, Jeanne L. Bagley and husband Tay, son Stephen C. Eldridge and wife Melissa; grandchildren, Christopher and wife Mary Ann, Stacey and husband Jeff, Micah and Zachary; four great grandchildren, Brandt, Corbitt, Maci Paige and Mary; sister Theda Conner, sister in laws Leigh Billa and husband Larry, Barbara Eldridge, Linda Eldridge and brother in law Sam Campise; and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents James and Arlie; brother-in-laws George Conner, Virge John, August Thomas, Robert Billy, James Lee and Karl Henry Eldridge; sister-in-laws Carrie Mae Charanza, Emma Louise Campise, Patricia Ann Gill and Dorothy Louise Eldridge.
