Arthur James Berger IV

Arthur James Berger IV, 46, returned to his heavenly home on April 5, 2020, at St. Catherine's Hospital in Katy, Tx. after a long hard fought battle from complications related to brain injury. His wife LaTanya of 20 years was at his hospital's bedside...His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.

Arthur was born on June 7, 1973, at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, La. to Norma and Arthur Berger III. He attended Francis T. Nicholls High School in New Orleans.

Arthur is survived by his wife, LaTanya Brown Berger of Cypress Tx., his children: sons; Arthur Berger V, Alante' Berger of Bogalusa, La., Cameron Berger, Tay'Jon Martin of Cypress, Tx., Antoine Brown (Akiyo) of Hiroshima, Japan; daughter, TaJonique Martin of Houston, Tx.; grandchildren, Arius and Arihana; his father Arthur James Berger III of New Orleans, La., his sisters; Adierah Berger Washington (August) of New Orleans, La. and Tanesha Berger of Horn Lake, Ms.,his mother-in- law; Gloria Martin; his father-in-law Robert Williams; his sister-in-law's, Krystal Martin and Ariel Martin Adewumi (Kayode): his brother-in-law's; Troy Martin (Erica), Theron Martin and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Norma Williams Berger; his brother, Jaren Anthony Berger; his maternal grandparents, Hilda and Albert Williams; his paternal grandparents Mary and Arthur Berger Jr.; and other aunts, uncles, and cousins in both the Berger and Williams’s families.

The family would like to give thanks to Arthur’s special caregivers for their efforts, care, and dedication.

A virtual funeral service with on-line viewing is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Saturday April 25, 2020, at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery in Houston, Tx. immediately followed by his burial at the same property location. All are welcome to celebrate Arthur's life as well as sending condolences and gifts to the family through the various tabs listed on the funeral home's website.
