

Arthur was born on August 19, 1939, in Newark, New Jersey, to Frederick John Hood Sr., and Margaret Rita Ryan. He earned his BS and MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University and devoted his professional life to accounting. Over the course of his career, he served as Vice President and Partner at Marsellis-Warner Corporation, Comptroller at M.J. Sheridan, and later as owner of Arthur F. Hood & Associates. In addition to his professional work, Arthur served as Youth Minister at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, where he touched the lives of many young parishioners.
Arthur was deeply committed to service, both professionally and personally. In his younger years, he served in the United States Army at Fort Dixon, was a Commissioner on the Kearny Board of Health, President of the Essex County Chapter of the National Association of Accountants, President of the New Jersey Construction Accounting Association, and an active member of the Kiwanis Club. He also gave generously of his time to Youth Ministry in Kearny.
After relocating to Texas, Arthur continued his lifelong dedication to faith and service. He taught Religious Education and Confirmation classes at Prince of Peace Catholic Community and later at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church. He was active in Marriage Encounter, a Fourth-Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and faithfully served as a Eucharistic Minister.
Arthur will be remembered for his quiet nature, endless patience, gentle sense of humor, and his deep love for God, family, and others. He found his greatest joy in time spent with loved ones and in serving his church community.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Eugenie Hood; his daughter, Margaret Black and her husband Robert, his stepchildren, Laura Gann and her husband Troy, Christopher Homrighaus and his wife Ashley. As well as eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Arthur is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Rose Mary Hood; his son, Arthur Joseph Hood; and his brother, Frederick “Cappy” Ryan.
The funeral services will be held on Friday, January 16, 2:00 p.m. preceded by the Rosary at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, 11507 Huffmeister Road, Houston, Texas 77065.
Interment will take place on Saturday, January 17, at 11:00 a.m. at Klein Memorial Cemetery, 32539 SH 249, Pinehurst, Texas 77362.

Arthur’s legacy of kindness, faith, and quiet service will live on in all who were blessed to know him.
