Arthur Thomas Stevens, age 86, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025, in Cypress, Texas. He was a member of Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Houston.
A native of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, Art graduated from Grand Rapids High School, where he enjoyed running track and cross country. The son of Charles and Ruby Stevens, Art enjoyed outdoors activities and was an Eagle Scout. The family were members of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grand Rapids. Art graduated from the University of Minnesota – Duluth.
On Halloween evening of 1959, Arthur married Virginia Johnson of Duluth, Minnesota and began their own family together. In 1965, the family moved to the Washington DC area when Art accepted a career opportunity with the U.S. Government. Art was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Colombus in Bowie, Maryland. In the mid-1990s, Art and Virginia retired to Houston, Texas. Virginia passed away in December 2017 after 58 years of marriage.
Arthur is survived by five children: Mark Stevens, David Stevens, Donna Hymen, Michael Stevens, and Carina Berry, 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren (with another due in May).
